Job Summary
Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment. Acts as a source of expertise for the area of specialty. Participates in the overall building management program to provide high quality, cost effective service with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Communicates and collaborates with the supervisors, project managers, tradespersons, and other construction trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost effective construction with continuity and coordination of services. Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.
- Performs expert level communication and hands on construction activities. Uses various tools and measuring equipment related to the specific area of specialty to perform calculations and measurements to determine proper functions.
- Inspects and tests the finished work of apprentices and provides mentoring and work direction as needed.
- Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensures proper care, and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.
- Performs work in specific area of specialty, including repair and replacement, layout, demolition and construction of all types of specialty systems and equipment which could include material estimating, ordering and preparing sites for construction, installation, replacement and/or repair. Reviews project blueprints to identify any special needs, revisions or problems and communicate with the appropriate engineer/designer.
- Ensures that all services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.
- Plans and coordinates work flow with other trades and acts as resource related to building systems.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associate's Degree In specific area of specialty
- 5 years of relevant experience Trade experience with two years within a healthcare setting Required
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-At least one License and/or Certification in area of specialty - UNKNOWN Unknown Example: Certified Welder or certification programs for healthcare mechanics Upon Hire required
- CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Upon Hire preferred
