Job Description
T2 Utility Engineers is currently seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is currently remote.
T2 Utility Engineers specializes in providing reliable underground and above-ground utility information to reduce the risks that utilities present for infrastructure projects. T2ue helps clients manage the complexity of existing utilities with our professional and comprehensive Subsurface Utility Engineering, Utility Coordination, and Surveying services.
Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional Subsurface Utility Engineering and surveying services in support of infrastructure projects of all sizes and types. Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors, provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects. Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety and set the standard for the engineering industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitates as the main point of contact with Client and Sub-consultant
- Coordinates technical requirements with “Project Team”
- Manages and reviews the performance of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget and quality
- Coordinates timely with Project Principal, and other division or group leaders and “Project Team” as necessary
- Leads and/or supports the preparation of proposals while coordinating with Branch Manager and other internal/external groups
- Coordinates setting up project details with Accounting for billing and invoicing
- Reviews and provides comments/recommendations to Project Principal before final signatures
- Reviews and negotiates contract fees and sub-consultant fees
- Monitors and manages project accounts receivable, unbilled labor, billing review reports and provides timely input to Project Principal - this includes completing the Project Management Report
- Keeps Branch Manager abreast of project status and major issues
- Oversees production quantity and quality of one or more SUE crews
- Coordinates with project managers for the effective scheduling of crews
- Assists project managers in preliminary work to prepare crews for field assignments
- Responsible for directing, scheduling, training and disciplining SUE Tech I, II and III associate as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience Minimum eight (10) years of Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is required
- Basic computer skills, which includes MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Be familiar with electronic utility locating techniques and equipment
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-own travel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Be able to handle certain construction equipment including 95 pounds Jack Hammer
- Ability to walk two miles
- Ability to work outside for over six hours at a time

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
