We are seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Kubernetes Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Kubernetes and its underlying technologies, as well as experience designing and implementing large-scale Kubernetes deployments, cloud, and on-premises technologies.

Design, implement, and manage robust and scalable Kubernetes clusters.Provide expert guidance on best practices for deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes in production.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of micro-services and applications.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes and its underlying infrastructure.

Continuously monitor and improve the performance of Kubernetes clusters.

Stay up to date with the latest developments in Kubernetes and related technologies.

Integrate micro-services with cloud and on-premises services.

Design and build native cloud architecture.

Manage large, on-premises vCenter environment.

Five (5+) years of advanced experience with Kubernetes and its components, managing Kubernetes clusters, including scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Advanced Linux administration skills
Expert understanding of container orchestration, networking, and security
Expert experience with deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes in production
Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline container orchestration and automation tools
Advanced experience building public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC technologies.
Experience with VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, knowledge of server hardware and network infrastructure, experience with storage technologies and disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Strong experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Employee must be available to travel as required.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $87,000 - $202,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $41.67 - $97.03
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
