Job Description
Position Description: Responsible for assisting guests with their product purchases within the Gift Shop. Products may include but not limited to ride tickets, cave tours, candy and other GCAP items within the Gift Shop. Restock products that are low in volume and ensure a very neat and clean Gift Shop. Will assist manager with training, scheduling and ordering of products when needed. Will be responsible for ensuring all Gift Shop employees are following GCAP policies and procedures. Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by your manager.
Responsibilities:
- Embrace and lead with Core Values.
- Audit team member performance against Core Values.
- Work with Retail Manager to determine staffing needs and ensure adequate employee coverage while working within labor budget.
- Create weekly schedules based on the budget.
- Operate cash register and maintain a strong presence on the floor.
- Train all new cashiers on Gift Shop procedures and cash handling.
- Ensure up-selling techniques are utilized to achieve sales goals.
- Constantly look at individual performance to ensure each employee works to the maximum potential and conduct performance appraisals at the end of the season.
- Responsible for assisting guests with their product purchases within the Gift Shop.
- Restock products that are low in volume and ensure a very neat and clean Gift Shop while maximizing product placement.
- Work with Business Office to ensure daily register drops are accurate and follow up with training if needed.
- May attend Gift Show and review new items to include in retail operation.
- Become proficient on all aspects of Siriusware.
- Communicate ways to improve inventory loss and other Gift Shop suggestions.
- Assist with end of season Gift Shop inventory.
- Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by your manager
- Ensure adequate amount of in-house fudge is being produced, if needed participate in the fudge production.
- Be the point of contact for guest issues and escalate accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work within labor budgetary constraints while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Listen to and follow direction accurately.
- Become proficient in Siriusware, our sales point software.
- Work weekends and holidays.
- Previous supervisory and training experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Previouscomputer, US currency exchanging and up selling preferred but not necessary.
- Strong math and communication skills required.
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Must be patient, poised and able to cope with special situations.
