Job Description
Forensic Structural or Civil Engineer
As a Forensic Structural Engineer with U.S. Forensic you will:
· Perform inspections of residential and commercial buildings to determine the cause of damages which may include damages from improper design, improper construction, storm related damages, misuse or lack of maintenance.
· Work from your home office about 66% of the time and conduct site visits about 33% of the time. You will not be required to go to an office regularly.
· Set your own schedule while working a 40-hour week which includes travel time to sites with only occasional overtime.
· Travel to site visits that are mostly local to you, with only occasional overnight travel.
· Not just sit at a desk all week but perform inspections that involve physical activity.
· Write professional, concise reports that require analytical abilities.
· Be part of an organization with a wide range of Forensic Engineering expertise and Metallurgy, Chemical Analysis, Materials Testing, Weld Testing, Roof Inspection, Electron Microscopy, Seismic Testing, Environmental Testing, Computed Tomography, Calibration and Non-Destructive Testing capabilities.

Requirements:
· Professional Engineer License in Structural or Civil Engineering.
· Ability to analyze various residential and commercial building failures to determine causation.
· Ability to write professional, concise reports.
· Experience with any of the following: forensic engineering, residential construction, commercial construction, code enforcement, code inspection, roofing, facilities maintenance, materials testing, home inspections, expert witness testimony, residential design, or storm damage assessments.
· Ability to conduct inspections that will require climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, working on roof tops, etc.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
