Work Hours/Shift: Thursdays from 10am-2pm, Friday and Saturday 3pm-11pm.
The nights of the week may vary and will include weekends, but the need is mostly on the 3pm-11pm shift and on Friday & Saturday evening.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s service standards; Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me and Own It.
- Utilizes various computer applications to include a primary and back-up switchboard phone console system and multiple emergency notification systems to process calls and alarms.
- Initiates and coordinates accurate communications for emergent events to include: code blue, code pink, code orange, code yellow, code green, code black, code red, code purple, code stemi, rapid response, active shooter and telephone outage escalation.
- Monitors multiple alarm systems to include fire, oxygen and elevators in the PBX area and notifies appropriate personnel when an alarm is received.
- Utilizes on-call systems and various on-call procedures to contact multiple departments after hours upon request.
- Maintains an understanding of hospital departments and surrounding areas, stays informed of all changes, reads email in a timely manner and updates resource documents frequently as needed.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Required:
- 1 year of related work experience as a switchboard operator or in customer service field
- Ability to read, speak, listen, receive, understand and disseminate communications effectively
- Perform basic computer skills and able to type 30 wpm
- Proficient in multi-tasking and working independently utilizing logical and safe decision making
- Sustains calm and courteous composure when dealing with emergencies or dissatisfied callers
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MS Office products
- Bilingual skills
Job Summary:
AdventHealth Operator Specialists service an average volume of 95,000 calls per month in an efficient, courteous and professional manner for 8 hospital locations in a 24/7 environment. Responsible to communicate up to 15 different types of emergency codes for the safest outcome for all. Conducts overhead pages and sends out emergent mass communication text messages accurately and professionally. Maintains flexibility in work schedule and performs assigned tasks to meet the needs of the department and hospital. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
