The Clinical Pharmacist provides professional pharmaceutical services in the inpatient setting to patients, healthcare providers, and hospital staff. This position will be an Emergency Medicine clinical role with cross-training to other clinical areas such as General Pediatrics. Pediatric and critical care experience preferred. Our Emergency Department is a 78 bed, level II trauma center with over 130,000 visits per year. We provide comprehensive, 24/7 pharmacy services through a team of clinical pharmacists, clinical technicians, and student pharmacists.
The Clinical Pharmacist ensures optimal pharmaceutical therapy outcomes and prospectively develops pharmaceutical plans and medication therapy education for each patient. All activities are done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations with the health and welfare of the patient paramount. Central staffing is required and cross-training to other areas/satellites is available based on each pharmacist's strengths.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited ACPE school of pharmacy
- PGY1 residency accredited by the American Society for Health-System Pharmacy or 2 years’ commensurate pharmacist experience in a health-system.
- Current license or license eligible to practice as a registered pharmacist in Texas
- Texas pharmacy preceptor licensure must be obtained within 90 days of employment
- CPR - BLS is required, PALS required for critical care areas only
