The Sourcing Manager - Production works to support Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Operations departments in the specific areas of finished goods development/production and raw material production. They will be responsible for managing the sourcing process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods at the best possible cost.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain positive business relationships with vendors through ongoing and regular communication

Negotiate with vendors in order to deliver products that meet or exceed quality standards, are produced within a reasonable lead time, and meet the company’s financial goals

Understand, leverage and apply our suppliers, capabilities and business plans to support the company’s goals

Understand technical capabilities of vendors in order to be able to anticipate problems and collaborate with them to present viable solutions when issues arise

Utilize factory performance metrics - development, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance - to guide source selection, allocation and business planning activities

Operate within confines of development calendars and assist the Director of Sourcing and internal partners to maintain them, providing feedback to Design, Product Development and

Purchasing on the status of milestones and specific issues that might prevent on-time completion

Monitor all vendor pre-production and production activities and provide timely feedback to the organization

Obtain and update accurate Factory Profiles from the vendors and to ensure vendor data in the systems are current

Collaborate in the definition and implementation of supplier management metrics (Supplier Scorecard), be responsible for its maintenance and, where applicable, will collaborate with vendors to implement Corrective Action Plans

Analyze and calculate total product costs and suggest methods to decrease expenditure

Preparation, data research and analysis of sourcing and re-sourcing projects and benchmarking and bidding processes

Bachelor’s degree in related field
-
5+ years of professional experience in textile, apparel, and/or fabric sourcing and/or product development
-
Knowledge of textile raw materials source base and garment manufacturing including, costing and functional components
-
Strong negotiation background, working with vendors to achieve best costs

Multilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred (both written and verbal)

Regular attendance in the office is a necessary and essential function of this position
