Summary/Objective
Reporting to the General Manager, the Janitor is responsible for performing janitorial duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness at Agency facilities.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Emptying trash containers, ensuring new liners are used
- Sweeping and mopping floors, using correct procedures and equipment. May involve floor stripping and waxing following specified training.
- Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cobweb and trash removal of the restrooms, break rooms, offices, sales floor, backroom and the building exterior including but not limited to floors, rugs/mats, toilets, sinks, microwaves, tables, windows, drinking fountains, fixtures, ledges, railings, touch points, workstations, dock area, flower beds and lawn, parking lot and
- Re-stocking supplies, such as paper towels, napkins and toilet paper
- Performing a variety of general cleaning duties, as requested or required
- Performing duties according to safety expectations, procedures and required PPE
- Ensuring the physical safety of the locations being cleaned
- Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
- All other duties assigned by the General Manager
Work Environment
The janitor performs their work in a professional retail and production setting.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Push, pull or carry 40 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently. Must be able to be on feet for long periods, bend, stoop, and be exposed to cleaning chemicals. Must be able to see to complete duties to required specifications. There is occasional exposure to heat and cold and frequent exposure to dust.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a part-time position. Schedule will be flexible and require availability during the week and on the weekends. Weekend work may vary depending on the needs of the business.
Qualifications
The Janitor will be a proven leader with the following:
- Must have 6 months of work history, unless this is their first job
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
