Job Description
Western Surgical Group, a large private practice surgical group in Reno, NV, is seeking a CFO. WSG is a large private practice group in Northern Nevada with 23 Physicians, 6 Mid-level practitioners and 70 employees and two office locations. We focus on sub-specialty care by primarily fellowship trained surgeons. A description of our practice can be found on our website, www.westernsurgical.com. The ideal candidate will work closely with the CEO and has the ability to build strategic and tactical business plans, be a strong servant leader for the administrative team, and build and maintain collaborative physician relationships. A clear, concise, and direct communication style is a must. Candidate needs to have a high degree of organizational and time management skills, ability to team build and take part in the strategic vision while adhering to WSG’s mission and values.
CFO job duties:
· Responsible for the preparation of all monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, physician monthly and quarterly distribution reports, which are presented to the CEO, Physician Shareholders, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
· Directs the preparation of weekly accounting functions such as accounts payable, payroll, benefits and retirement plan allocation.
· Reviews financial process and suggests improvements to current methods.
· Assures that all financial operations and procedures are conducted according to GAAP.
· Provides direction and leadership to the Business Office in regard to A/R…denials…collections ratios of Charges Vs. Revenue…provides strategic processes toward achieving the MGMA 90th per centile of the best performing financial groups according to demographics.
· Assists the CEO in working with the physician leadership to develop and implement a financial infrastructure to realize growth objectives of the medical group.
· Review and develop a cash flow process to include meeting monthly financial needs as well as quarterly bonus paid to shareholders.
· Assist the CEO on pro-forma and financial projections for the establishment of new alternative revenue streams as well as JV opportunities.
· Review the physician compensation model and suggest appropriate revisions mindful of being complaint with STARK law regulations as well as anti-trust issues.
· The CFO is a member of the leadership team and reports directly to the CEO and is the direct contact for the officers of the corporation, Board of Directors, and Physician Partners in regard to all financial matters within the scope of responsibility.
Qualifications:
· Seven years minimum in a healthcare setting specifically in a financial leadership role of a physician owned/directed for profit independent large single or multi-specialty group.
· MBA or MHA preferred. CPA license desirable but not required.
· Please include historical compensation paid in past and current positions.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
