Our facility in Miamisburg, Ohio is home to our Defense and Aerospace Business Unit with strategic leadership and administration responsibilities for the global defense organization. This site specializes in the design, manufacture and test of energetic safety systems including electronic safe, arm and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue Chip™ detonators and serves a variety of high-performance applications including precision munitions, tactical missiles, launch vehicles, and strategic missiles.
Our facility in Malvern, Pennsylvania is home to the Solidtron Advanced Thyristor Products Business Unit. This facility offers a diverse technical team with expertise in the design, packaging, assembly, testing and application support for a broad gamut of state-of-the-art and next-generation pulsed-power semiconductor components and high-power switch assemblies. Complementing the Miamisburg, Ohio operation, our Initiator Firing Switches (IFS) are one of the premier technologies used in energetic safety systems that are used to launch, separate and detonate many of the United States’ and friendly-foreign military’s smart arsenals.
Excelitas Technologies has an immediate need for a Solder-Assembly Technician. This is a non-exempt position that would receive overtime for working over 40 hours in a week. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to perform duties with minimal supervision, thrives on challenge, mastering new information and ideas, is innovative and flexible, willing to tackle any task required in a constantly changing environment, can grow intellectually and professionally along with our company.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture semiconductor modules and perform testing on product;
- Assembly of switches and boards followed by encapsulating of product;
- Simple mechanical fabrication and assembly using hand tools;
- Electrical assembly which includes the assembly and wiring of systems;
- Conduct / monitor experiments on high voltage, high power devices;
- Use word processing and spreadsheet software for documentation;
- Utilizing electrical schematics wire systems and cabinets with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- At least three years’ manufacturing experience in assembly and modification of electronic racks;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- Proficient with use of hand tools;
- Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints;
- Understanding of electricity/electronics;
- IPC 610 and 620 certifications;
- IPC Soldering certification;
- Computer proficient and able to learn new software programs;
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Flexible and eager to do what’s necessary to get the job done;
- Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED;
Desired Skills:
- Work independently on system wiring;
- Experience in machine shop;
- Troubleshooting of simple electrical systems;
- Two-year technical degree.
