About This Role:
UWL, a World Group company, is currently looking for an attentive and team oriented person to join our family as an Operations Manager for our growing Houston offices!
The Operations Manager is the leader of the entire operations team, providing direction, guidance, corrective action and support to each of the members of the team, with support of the department managers or department supervisors. The Operations Manager has a fiduciary duty to the company to ensure client retention, financial health, staff development and office sales goals are met by the team. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures customs compliance by exercising reasonable care and control over office
- Manages and/or approving post entry operations and day to day operational support including systems, client questions and research
- Client set up, introduction and maintenance
- Oversight and management of all products including specialized commodities, services and modes of transport
- Assists in growth of company/business development and profitability
- Monitors and ensures financial goals are met, providing updates and progress regularly to executive team
- Assists in rate negotiations by supplying pertinent data and customer requirements to management, in addition to overseeing rate filings for local clients
- Works in conjunction with sales team to vet potential business opportunities
- Answers all general inquiries and quotes promptly
- Interviews, hires, terminates, executes corrective action and participates in regular staff conversations
- Oversees time keeping system and ensures accurate time is recorded for approval
- Conducts annual reviews for exempt/supervisor employees and others if needed
- Recommends and implements salary changes for staff
- Other duties as assigned
