Description:
The Engineering Technician is a member of the KT Pacer Alabama Engineering team supporting engineering, plant productivity, and operations. The Engineer Technician is responsible for managing the operations, functions, and processing of raw materials produced by the Mazak fiber optic laser and assisting with other engineering support functions for production. This includes creating parts and bills of material in the production software.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Programs Mazak fiber optic laser based upon order logs, blueprints, BOMs, and applicable revisions
- Manages the Laser ordering program log, which includes pulling blueprints, log order details on blueprints, and organizing the flow of orders through completion
- Creates and details all manufactured parts in production software, such as Mysis and QuickBooks
- Update parts in laser filing system according to revision specifications
- Builds parts nests based upon business demand
- Order and track all replacement parts for the Mazak fiber optic laser
- Assemble and maintain critical Mazak laser parts on hand in the event of a failure
- Assist with laser maintenance items as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Two-Year Degree in relevant field is preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Prior experience with Mazak fiber optic laser programming or CNC programming with RADAN or other programming software is preferred
- Prior experience with Mysis and QuickBooks or an equivalent Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system is preferred
- Must be able to read blueprints and drawings
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, or other 3D CAD system is preferred, drafting capabilities is a plus
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations
- Strong attention to detail and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Work in full compliance with safety regulations
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn outside of existing areas of expertise
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Willing to work in a fast-paced setting, handle change, and have the creative energy to solve problems
