Commercial Solar Power Salesperson
Job Description:

Commercial Solar Power Consultants work to acquire new customers, navigating business owners through the process of purchasing their electricity from a less-expensive, clean energy source. We’re looking for friendly sales consultants who strive to exceed expectations and build strong relationships with business owners.
Sales experience is a must. We will train you how to be the best at selling solar electricity systems to our customers and equip you with everything you need to be successful.
Project sizes range from 50kW to 5MW. Alder Energy Systems is committed to the highest quality products and installation methods for complete customer satisfaction. We have access to a range of quality equipment and finance/lease options to suit our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Sales of solar electric services to businesses and institutions.
- Run frequent sales appointments and site surveys.
- Close deals and sign contracts over the phone or Internet or at client offices.
- Master the delivery of Alder Energy System’s value proposition and competitive positioning.
- Maintain opportunity pipeline metrics in our customer database.
- Self-generate leads through referrals, networking, and events.
- Analyze customer electricity use history and consult on utility details.
- Build solar proposals based on site specifications, customer goals, and utility details. Present appropriate solar finance offerings to various client types, including taxable and nontaxable entities with multiple stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Operations team to provide efficient and thorough transition from sale to installation.
- Follow-up with new customers after solar installation to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Participate in department sales meetings and individual performance reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Commercial (C&I) Solar sales or similar technical sales experience preferred
- Inside and Outside Sales experience required
- Strong track record of full-cycle business development and lead generation
- Ability to understand finance models and select various types of finance packages based upon clients’ needs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills, able to set priorities and respond swiftly to customer requests.
- Must be highly computer literate
- 50% travel within a defined region
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience with ZoHo, Salesforce.com, or equivalent CRM desired.
- Experience with Helioscope or similar solar design software.
- Four-year college degree
- All candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
Compensation:
- Base salary plus sales commission; motivated to earn $100,000+
