Job Title: Lead Purchasing Agent

Suburban Enterprises is looking for an amazing Lead Purchasing Agent to join our team. As the Lead Purchasing Agent, you will be in charge of purchasing equipment, goods, materials, and services for all departments and companies under the corporate umbrella, directly or in conjunction with department/company management. The Lead Purchasing Agent will ensure the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery, and ensuring continuity of supply. Further, develop and maintain a purchasing program and standard operating procedures.

What you’ll be doing:
- Establish and cultivate Supplier relations for the responsible divisions.
- Assist production planning by providing priority lists based on inventory levels and forecasts.
- Manage inventory levels by effectively balancing quantity and cost through coordinating transactional purchasing activities with Buyers, Manufacturing, Planning and Suburban departments.
- Monitor and forecast commodities markets trends and issues and determine potential risks, opportunities and actions for Suburban Enterprises to achieve supply continuity and best value.
- Lead process source on time and satisfy program targets, including working closely with Department leaders to develop forward model cost targets.
- Provide reporting, visibility, follow-up and work cross-functionally to drive reductions to existing excess inventory.
- Research supply chain options to ensure end-use requirements are met, drive standardization where appropriate, and ensure the best value to maximize efficiencies and profitability.
- Own the PO process - interact with cross-divisional leaders and drive process improvements.
- Lead purchasing agent for said products supporting the responsible divisions.
- Lead purchasing agent for Prefab Shop, Safety, and Office Supplies.
- Assist the Tools dept with tools, vehicles, trailers, and equipment purchases.
- Assist the Accounting Dept where necessary to effectively solve invoicing issues.
- Provide purchasing order numbers to Field Operations team members.
- Manage the returns process for said divisions.
- Backup and support Field Services Team where deemed necessary.
- May operate tier-lift truck or use a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to the storage or work area.
- Communication of status to stakeholders in the process.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2+ year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience leading a team
- Inventory management, forecasting & supply chain management
- Ability to create SOP’s in coordination with all related stakeholders, which continue to improve efficiencies throughout the processes.
- Effective scheduling of purchasing and deliveries to keep jobs on track to plan.
- Experience leading the PO process and management of overall flow.
Preferred Education:
- Associate and/or bachelor’s degree Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Ability to communicate and work with key stakeholders.
- Working knowledge and experience in the following fields:
- Construction Management
- Supply Chain Management
