Position Title: Systems Engineer
Salary: $70,000 - $95,000

Job Summary
The objective is to provide high quality, customer-centric, best-in-class service via remote and on-site support at multiple client locations. You will primarily operate in Windows and VMware environments and are expected to provide both back end and end user support and will require various troubleshooting functions as necessary.
You are responsible for server and host support, server and host provisioning, installation and maintenance of systems hardware and software at various locations around Charlotte. You will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and backups are monitored to optimize reliability and uptime and updated accordingly. You will develop and review IT processes and procedures, maintenance guidelines, and documentation of client server environments. You may assist in project management, definition of technical strategy, research and development, technical analysis, and support operations staff in executing, testing, and rolling out solutions. You must have expert-level proficiency with Windows Server 2012+, VMware ESXi and VCenter to better support infrastructures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Server support (escalated tickets, server/virtualization troubleshooting and remediation).
Proactive maintenance, monitoring, documentation, and testing of client server environments through a combination of scheduled onsite and remote (in-office) work.
Perform server and host diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, including updates to applications and the operating system.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Configure and add new services as necessary. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Help develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and system standards.
Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of client’s infrastructure and supporting material that ensures consistent quality support.
Develop subject matter expertise to diagnose and remedy application and system issues as needed or upon request.
Work with assigned project leads to complete assigned tasks within defined scope and timeline to ensure the successful deployment of IT projects for our clients.
Professionally document all work performed and submit accurate, detailed timesheets on a weekly basis.
Participate in the on-call rotation which may include after-hours onsite support.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years MSP experience.
Experience with RMM and monitoring tools such as ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise Control, and Auvik.
Experience with Windows Server, VMware, and some networking.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure AD.
Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design, configure systems to be consistent with policies/procedures, communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing, establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility, and respond to emergency situations effectively.
Must thrive in a self-directed environment, capable of prioritizing tasks on your own and be a strong troubleshooter and problem solver. Accountability and communication of tasks and activities to managers via designated tools ensures a high degree of autonomy.

Work culture is a small company, requiring you to be accountable for your time and task management.
Work performed primarily in an office environment, consisting of light to moderate physical activity (lifting 50 pounds, use of power tools or work on a ladder may be necessary in the course of your duties). Includes use of computer, telephone and/or other office equipment.
Responsibilities occasionally require working evenings and weekends.
Reliable transportation is required along with a clean driving record, driver's license, and required insurance coverage.
Out-of-town travel may be required – client service area mostly within 50 miles of office.
