We are recruiting for a Full-Time Cash Application Specialist to join our skilled team in Marlton, NJ! This position is 40 hours per week, and is eligible for our full benefits package! This position also has work from home flexibility.

Job Description:
The Cash Applications Specialist is the lead responsible for reconciling, reporting and posting all incoming payments to correct patient accounts on a daily basis. Inputs and retrieves data from computer systems. Reconciles accounts daily. Applies payments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently. We are seeking a candidate with experience in accounting and medical payment posting.
DUTIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Reconciling and reporting Daily Cash for all programs.
- Post payments and make adjustments accurately and timely based on contracted rates and patient’s individual health plans through automated and/or manual processes.
- Retrieve payments from various provider portals when necessary.
- Review electronic remittance advice posting (where applicable) for proper application to system records.
- Identifies denied claims and communicates them to the billing team
- Ensures payments, adjustments, deductibles, copays/coinsurances are accurately applied
- Adjust system reported Accounts Receivables (AR) balances to third-party EOBs through the payment posting process.
- Read and interpret third-party explanation of benefits (EOB).
- Receive and complete requests from team members regarding missing checks and inaccurate postings.
- Work with the Accounting Department to complete the month-end reconciliation process.
- Report payment discrepancies.
- Track and research unapplied cash and escalate to management as necessary.
- Validate posting results and reconcile payments posted against checks or ERA’s received
- Identify under-payments of claims and provide information to the billing team
- Ability to handle large volume of ERA’s and EOB’s and maintain a daily goal.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required.
- College degree or Accounting experience preferred.
- 3+ years posting experience in a medical setting required.
- Working knowledge of debits and credits required.
- Experience in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOB) from various insurances, required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel) required.
- Electronic payment posting experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to function independently and under supervision as task requires
