Clinical Post-Doctoral Residency
Springfield Psychological currently has paid Clinical Post-Doctoral Residency openings for the 2023-2024 training year working in the REACH Program, our cutting-edge school-based program which fully integrates behavioral health services within a public-school setting. What sets this program apart is that it is an entirely clinical placement housed within a school and involves group, individual, and family treatment. This is entirely clinical rather than school psychology work.
Compensation:
- Salaried position providing two hours supervision
- $48,000
Position Description:
The Post-Doctoral position consists of clinical work with adolescents in a school-based setting to facilitate their emotional growth and development. The program also seeks to support students returning from or at risk of out-of-district placement. The REACH Program is currently located in four different school districts (Upper Merion Area School District, North Penn School District, Pottsgrove, and Methacton School District) and provides services to K-12th graders. Post-docs will work with students in both group and individual sessions and should possess excellent therapeutic alliance skills with children and adolescents, as well as strong collaboration skills with family, school professionals, and medical providers. Post-docs will also receive two hours a week of supervision.
Required Experience:
- Completion of all doctoral degree requirements required
- Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple individuals when coordinating care
- Flexible and comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake interviews to determine program appropriateness and treatment needs
- Work therapeutically with children/adolescents in individual, group, and family sessions
- Routinely consult with teachers and administrators
- Participate in crisis planning with on-call availability to answer phone calls/texts (similar to a DBT coaching model)
- Develop topics for group session discussion
- Provide professional development sessions for district staff
- Utilize excellent and timely documentation skills
