Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a Data Manager to provide expertise in databases, information architecture, and software design to support advanced data management for the school community. The Data Manager is responsible for remaining current with data technologies relevant to an academic environment. This position works closely with others to ensure NMH’s cloud-based services are integrated and serve the needs of the institution. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Data Manager is a new position focused on gathering, cleaning, transforming, visualizing, and analyzing data across the institution. This position provides support for enterprise-level data operations including database administration, security, training, and documentation. Candidates will collaborate with a great team, and be a self-starter capable of working independently.
The successful applicant should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience successfully designing, developing, and managing relational databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, FileMaker) in high-availability environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to lead technical projects, advanced knowledge of networking protocols and scripting languages is expected. Familiarity with Blackbaud and/or Technolutions platforms is strongly preferred.
The Data Manager will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products required. ITIL, Azure, PMP, CISSP, or Crystal Reports/SSRS certifications preferred. Occasional night and weekend work may be necessary to maintain IT operations.
