Primary Responsibilities
Establish more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company’s general ledger.
Oversee all financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers for accuracy
Prepare timely and monthly, quarterly, and financial statements for CFO review and consolidation roll-up
Summarize budget trends, analyse deficiencies, and report variances
Monitor and communicate commission statements for payroll and sales
Oversee customer account collections
Responsible for the company’s operating cycle metric
Provide external auditors with needed documentation and support
Be a ERP SUPERUSER
Supervise accounting staff
Other duties as assigned by CFO
Secondary Responsibilities
Be the back-up to accounting support staff for vacations by handling the day-to-day activities listed below
Daily bank reconciliations
Daily preparations and file maintenance of sales invoices, related sales credits, and debit memos
Matches supplier invoices to internally prepared purchase orders and maintains the appropriate files
Separates mail between AR and AP
Conduct customer account collections
Processes credit checks on new customers
Processes credit requests from new vendors
Audits and enters into ERP invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, approve for payment and reconcile unbilled purchase orders
Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills
Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, amount statements, reports, and other records, also reviews for accuracy.
Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services
Audits freight bills against freight quotes
Required Education and Skills
Accounting Degree REQUIRED
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Experience in the preparation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for CFO and consolidation roll-up.
Highly proficient in MS Excel- Data analysis, use of formulas, functions, and formatting
Able to meet deadlines
