Position Summary
The Biology Department at Brookdale Community College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track position to begin Fall 2023. The Biology Department offers courses including General Biology, Human Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Introduction to Plants, Invertebrate Zoology, Vertebrate Zoology, Marine Biology, Microbiology, and Ecology & Field Biology. In addition to excellent academic credentials and subject area knowledge, candidates will bring to the college a love of teaching; an enthusiastic desire to assist students; and an eagerness to contribute to the Brookdale Community College community.
Description of Duties
The successful candidate will be able to teach General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology courses.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Biology or related field (e.g. Zoology, Botany).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Evidence of well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus.
- Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
- Commitment to continued professional growth and departmental service.
- Evidence of understanding about and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.
- Experience in using technology in the classroom and in collaborative learning.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
This is a full-time, tenure track position. This position is primarily based at the Lincroft Campus; however, teaching at multiple locations throughout the county may be required.
Candidates invited for an in-person interview may be required to present a teaching demonstration.
(Faculty members teaching extra courses or working additional hours during the academic year and in the summer receive additional compensation.)
**This position may be staffed at the Assistant Professor level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
